Tasted blind, this was sweet, with small, fine bubbles, and I thought it might be a well-aged Champagne.

In the glass
The acidity was high but not sharp. The lychee was remarkably rich, and the brioche was subtle and pleasant. When it was suggested that this might be Krug, I answered that it was definitely not Krug and that I could tell even without seeing the label. It was then pointed out that I had got a blind Krug wrong once before.
